Bonnyrigg and Lasswade Community Council Special Meeting to discuss Bonnyrigg Leisure Centre Reuse Consultation and Proposals.
14th November 2013 7:30 pm at George V Pavilion. All Welcome. We will be discussing the results of our Reuse Consultation and coming to an understanding of what the community view is for the future of the building. Everyone is welcome to attend this special meeting of Bonnyrigg and Lasswade Community Council. If you have ideas please visit our site for the ‘virtual consultation’: www.Bonnyrigg.org.uk Contact : 07595373211 for any questions. I just heard from Colin the hairdresser on the high street that the Eskvally Rotary club are paying for a shipping container to take the old equipment- desks, tools ect to schools in South Africa to help high schools there get equipped.
Its a great example of joined up thinking to reuse things that may have just gone to the dump. I'm not sure on the details but I think the head teacher (not sure whether its new or old) approached the rotary club and asked. Breaking news: Market stall holders were told this week that Bonnyrigg Market will have its last week on Thursday 31 October 2013.
End of an era. He told me that they were told it was being sold to a developer who wants to build flats on the site. |
