Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 27th April 2017
At the Sports Pavilion, King George V Park, Bonnyrigg at 7 pm

Thanks were given to the Chairman for his work in this role.
Treasurer Ian Sprott was nominated by Marnie Crawford, seconded by Darius Namdaran and duly elected.
Planning Convener Marnie Crawford was nominated by Ian Sprott, seconded by Shelagh Metcalfe and duly elected.

- Apologies: Dougie Stewart, Gibby Scott, Cammy Scott
- Minutes of the 2016 AGM. These were not available but would be considered and agreed if possible by Darius and Marnie once they were produced.
- Financial Report. The Accounts for the year were not yet available. The Treasurer was new but he and Ian Baxter were to get together and set them up. They were expected to be ready for the June meeting. In the previous month an account from Baillie signs for £1363.20 had been paid for the fitness trail signs. The bank account now stood at £960.58.
- Thanks. CamScott, who had been a Community Councillor for over 30 years, was not present but had sent in a letter of resignation indicating that he believed it was time for him to retire. The Chair led tributes and thanks emphasising how much public service had been given by Cam, not just to the CC but that he had also been on the Town Council (69-75) and involved with the Twinning Association. It was agreed a presentation would be made to Councillor Scott and that an article would be prepared for the local paper.
- Chairman’s Report. Darius gave a summary of the year’s events and in particular how many consultations and actions had been taken on behalf of the community. The list was long but included Walker Homes plans for HS10 site at Dalhousie Mains, the Fitness Traill had been installed and opened with a great ceremony attended and supported by well known sportspeople, Airport flight path consultation, Market Site housing proposals, Parking in Park Road, Pay Phone consultation, Remembrance Day ceremonies attended, Sheriffhall upgrade, the Residents Forum was viewed by many individuals and a video had been made about it for the Scottish Office, Bright Sparks came along with an update, Hopefield Campus consultation and Virgin Fibre plans. One of the highlights was the success of Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish Cup.

- New Constitution
- Step Down of all Community Councillors. This took place and Councillor Ian Baxter took over as Presiding Officer.
- The Presiding Officer informed the meeting that five valid nomination papers had been received. They were from Darius Namdaran, Marnie Crawford. Ruth Scott, Shelagh Metcalfe and Ian Sprott. These were put to the meeting and duly elected.
- Election of Office Bearers There was no volunteer for Chairman. A discussion took place on whether an investigation of the possibility of joining up with the Poltonhall CC. Darius Namdaran would put out feelers. It was also noted that there was a procedure for changing CC boundaries and this could take some time.
Treasurer Ian Sprott was nominated by Marnie Crawford, seconded by Darius Namdaran and duly elected.
